Shabang Inclusive Learning
Shabang Inclusive Learning are looking for a person at the beginning of their career who is interested in being part of, assisting and supporting a well-being programme of creative activities for families who have a child with additional needs. The Well-being Assistant will work alongside the Well-being Advocate who will support you in this role. This position will provide the opportunity to develop skills and learn more about leading a regular programme of well-being participatory activities to support your future career.
This is an assistant position and so you do not need lots of experience or to have worked in this kind of job before. The aim of the role is to develop your skills to help in the future, whilst supporting the work of Shabang. The position would be ideal for someone with additional needs and we welcome and encourage neurodiverse applicants to apply.

Hours of work:
8 x hours per week, flexible working, some evening and weekends

Place of work:
Old Providence Chapel, Hollins Row, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield HD7 5LA.
The Chapel is a recently re-furbished, fully accessible building

Well-being Advocate

Fee:
£12.50/hour

Length of Post:
1 year initially, ideally starting March 2023, with the possibility of continuing until September 2025

Requirement:
Due to the nature of this post, the post holder is required to have an
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This can be undertaken for the successful applicant if necessary.
This role is part of Shabang’s successful 3-year Promising Future programme of activities funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities programme.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:-
Specific Duties & Skills
- to work alongside and assist and support the Well-being Advocate
- to support and eventually co-deliver activities that help children and people with additional needs with their well-being
- promote and support positive mental health and well-being messages
- be computer literate – we use Apple computers and tablets
