Current and up-and-coming projects:
The Reaching Communities Big Lottery Fund , funds Shabang to run creative Family Clubs for families of children and young people on the autistic spectrum.
"Day Dreamers" runs once a month on Saturday mornings at The Watershed in Slaithwaite.
We made this 5 minute photo montage for:
"Light It Up Blue"
World Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd 2013.
Take a look at our 5 minute photo montage starring local children and young people with Down Syndrome.
It is a celebration of children who happen to have an extra chromosome - Trisomy 21.
"Like A Rainbow" asks us to see the child first before their diagnosis or label.
It is ideal for teachers and education settings to use as a tool for raising awareness.
We would like to thank all the families from HDSSG for their support in the making of this "film".

Shabang! are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Communication Trusts's "Shine a Light Award".
The Communication Trust is a consortium of over 50 voluntary communication organisations with expertise in speech, language and communication, including those with speech, language and communication needs.
Shine a Light was designed to honour individulas, teams, projects ,communication friendly settings and communities that have demonstrated excellence in supporting the needs of all children and young people's communication.
Shabang! have been shortlisted under the Early Years category for our Little Tiddlers sessions which we run as part of our Reaching Communities Big Lottery funded project.
Shabang! are thrilled to launch a 2013 calendar with a difference. The full colour calendar features children and young people from Shabang projects. Each month depicts a witty seasonal theme and together with Makaton signs and symbols to aid communication the calendar is an exciting new educational tool for families and schools alike.
More importantly we see the children featured in the calendar as much more than models - they are role models. Images of people with additional learning needs are few and far between in the media or in educational resources. So we thought it was about time a positive, happy collection of photographs was produced and a calendar seemed to be the ideal vehicle to bring a series of images together.
Working alongside photographer Mike Barratt form Frogs Design, we have created rich backdrops which tell seasonal stories - from Felix's declaration of love for February's Valentine Day to Archie's summer picnic in July.
The calendar celebrates a range of models from 8 month old Ella to 18 year old Max.
Local Huddersfield print firm Brooke and Learoyd have generously donated a proportion of their fee towards the costs.
The Calendars are A3 size, full colour and cost £9.99 + p&p
